Sometimes a yard just needs a little structure. Not a full renovation - just something to pull it all together and make it feel intentional. That's exactly what this Lakeville backyard needed.
What we were working with was a side yard that had good bones - established hostas, mature trees, solid garden beds - but no real way to move through it cleanly. Muddy spots, no clear walking line, and that general feeling of the space being unfinished.
We built out a gravel path with paver stepping stones running right down the center. The gravel base gives it great drainage and keeps things from getting muddy after rain. The pavers spaced through the middle give you a clean, solid surface to actually walk on. It's a combination that looks sharp and holds up well over time.
Fresh dark mulch went into the surrounding beds on both sides. That's one of those details that makes everything else look better - it frames the plants, keeps weeds down, and ties the whole space together. The contrast between the dark mulch and the lighter gravel path is hard to beat visually.
It's one of those installs that looks simple but makes a real difference in how a yard functions day to day. Clean lines, easy access through the beds, and a finished look that actually matches the effort the homeowner has already put into their plants.
